The Australian case

A class action has been brought in Australia against Aristocrat Leisure Limited, Product Madness, Inc. and Big Fish Games, Inc., alleging that they provided prohibited interactive gambling services in breach of Australia's Interactive Gambling Act 2001 and engaged in unconscionable conduct under Australian Consumer Law.

The covered apps include Jackpot Magic Slots, Big Fish Casino, Epic Diamond Slots, Heart of Vegas, Cashman Casino, Lightning Link Casino and Mighty Fu Casino. The relevant period runs from 22 December 2017 to 12 December 2024.

As of January 2026 a proposed settlement of $155 million had been reached, pending court approval. People who played the covered apps before 31 August 2026 may be eligible to submit claims. The United States case

A separate US class action alleged that Big Fish Games, Churchill Downs, Aristocrat Technologies and Aristocrat Leisure operated unlawful gambling devices through the sale of virtual chips in Big Fish Casino, Jackpot Magic Slots and Epic Diamond Slots. A $155 million settlement fund was announced in July 2020, covering roughly two million players, with eligible players able to recover approximately 20 percent of their losses. Aristocrat also paid $31 million to settle a pair of federal lawsuits in Washington state in May 2020.

None of this makes Jackpot Magic a real-money gambling product, and the companies have not conceded that it is. What the cases reflect is a genuine legal grey area around selling virtual chips for chance-based games, and the outcomes may eventually push the whole category toward published odds, stronger age verification and spending limits.

Separately, a 2022 Truth in Advertising complaint alleged that in-app purchases in Big Fish Casino and Jackpot Magic Slots were misleadingly marketed as discounts from false original prices. That is a consumer advocacy complaint rather than a legal action, but it is consistent with the Mega Bonus Shop criticisms above.

Jackpot Magic Slots runs on iOS, Android and the Amazon Appstore. There was a Facebook version, but Meta ended support for web games on Facebook on 1 September 2026. The iOS build was at version 21.1.0 as of May 2026, with the Android version updated in July 2026, so the game remains actively maintained a decade after launch.
