How does the DoubleDown Time Bonus work?
A 3-hour countdown timer runs in-game even when the app is closed. When it hits zero, you can claim a chip pack from the Time Bonus icon in the lobby. The timer caps at one stored claim, meaning if you don't claim before the next cycle starts you lose the unclaimed pack.
What does the Booster do to the Time Bonus?
An active Booster extends the Time Bonus interval from every 3 hours to every 4 hours. Boosters are sold in the in-game store and during seasonal promotions. They are typically used by players who can only check the app a few times per day to space the timer to a more practical cadence.
What is the optimal Time Bonus claim cadence?
Without a Booster, optimal cadence is 4 to 5 claims per day during waking hours: a morning claim, a midday claim, an afternoon claim, an evening claim, and a late-night claim. Combined with the Daily Wheel, this stacks 1.0M to 1.5M chips per day at White Diamond, more at higher Diamond Club tiers.
Does the Time Bonus stack with the Friend Bonus?
No. The Friend Bonus only modifies the Daily Wheel reward. The Time Bonus is unaffected by friend count. The Time Bonus does scale with Diamond Club tier, however, so high-tier players see larger Time Bonus chip packs on each claim.
What happens if I lose track and miss cycles?
Missed Time Bonus cycles are forfeited - there is no rollover. There is also no streak penalty: a single missed cycle has no effect on tier or Daily Wheel; you simply don't earn that cycle's chips. Set a midday phone reminder if you only check the game casually.
