Zynga Poker is the longest-running game we cover. It launched on 1 July 2007 as Texas Hold'Em Poker on Facebook, in the era when Zynga effectively invented the social game, and it has been running ever since.

The core is genuine Texas Hold'em against other players, but the table list is broader than most people realise: Pot-Limit Omaha, Pineapple Poker, Short-Deck Hold'em and Burn 'em all appear alongside it, with Sit-N-Go, Spin & Win and multi-table tournament formats.

Chips are what you play with and have no cash value. Gold is the premium currency, and its main use is spinning the Mega Lucky Bonus machine for more Chips.

Zynga is now a wholly owned publishing label of Take-Two Interactive.

The most significant recent change to this game, and one most write-ups have not caught up with.

Zynga Poker released on Steam on 12 August 2025, as Zynga Poker: Texas Holdem. That is a genuine PC client rather than a browser wrapper, and it puts the game in front of a very different audience from the mobile one.

It matters practically for two reasons. Poker benefits more than most genres from a large screen and a mouse: reading the table, tracking opponents and sizing bets are all easier. And Steam carries its own welcome offer, which is the largest of the several the game runs.

Alongside Steam the game runs on iOS, Android and in a browser. It began life on Facebook, but Meta ended support for web games there on 1 September 2026, so that route should not be relied on.

This is unusual enough to be worth its own section, because the figure you will see quoted depends on which page you happened to read.

Those are all official figures from official sources, and they disagree by more than four hundred times. The differences likely reflect platform, region, account segment and promotional timing.

So there is no single correct answer, and any page quoting one figure as the welcome bonus is quoting one platform's version of it. If the opening balance matters to you, the practical conclusion is that starting on Steam appears to pay considerably more than starting anywhere else.

The daily bonus is more consistent, advertised at up to 45,000,000 Chips, though the word up is doing real work in that sentence.

Two currencies, and the relationship between them is the thing worth understanding.

• Chips: What you buy into tables with. No cash value, no cash-out.
• Gold: The premium currency. Earned through gameplay or bought, and spent on the Mega Lucky Bonus machine, which spins for additional Chips, plus other extras.

So Gold is not a parallel play currency, it is a converter: its main purpose is turning into Chips through the Lucky Bonus machine.

Zynga does not publish the probability table, prize values, or whether any pity mechanic exists on that machine. That is worth knowing before treating Gold as a reliable route to a big chip stack rather than as a gamble in its own right.

The web store gift is the one most players never see, because it lives outside the app entirely. It costs nothing and takes a browser tab.

Worth stating flatly, because this game attracts more fake code content than almost anything else we cover, and our own earlier pages contributed to the problem.

No first-party source documents a public code system. Not Zynga's game page, not its official web store, not the help centre, not the Google Play listing, not the Apple listing, and not the Steam listing.

The confusion has a traceable origin: older unofficial guides describe a Redeem option or claim limited new-account code entry. Nothing current supports that.

Meanwhile the coupon sites publishing Zynga Poker codes show no first-party confirmation, and often carry implausibly old comments and unverified expiry claims. We previously ran a promo codes page for this game with a redemption walkthrough on it; that page has been retired and now points at the free chips feed, which is where the real rewards are.

The poker is genuine, but the economics of the table are not, and that changes correct strategy.

Because chips cost nothing, opponents call far more than they would with money at stake. The single most common mistake experienced players make here is importing a bluffing frequency that works at a real table and losing steadily to people who simply will not fold.

Value bet more, bluff less. Bet your strong hands harder than feels right, because you will get paid off by hands that should have folded.

The tournament formats are where skill shows most, since they impose real chip pressure and eliminate the bottomless-rebuy dynamic of cash tables. If you want the game to feel like poker rather than bingo, Sit-N-Go is the place to start.

The comparisons split between other poker games and Zynga's own catalogue, which shares the Loyalty Lounge.

WSOP is the closest direct competitor and worth trying alongside this one, since they run comparable free economies. Within Zynga, playing more than one title pays off through the shared Loyalty Lounge, so Wizard of Oz Slots or Willy Wonka Slots are worth linking if poker is not always what you want.
